Little Scholars opened in 2015 in Glenwood, IL. The owner has been in the early childhood education field for over 30 years. The center opened to provide exceptional high-quality child care services to families in the Glenwood and surrounding area. The center open with a capacity of 80 and continued to rapidly grow and now has a license for 224 children. Little Scholars CDC have several classrooms, where every age group is separated into small classroom communities.

At Little Scholars CDC, our mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. We are committed to fostering a love for learning through play-based experiences, promoting creativity, and developing essential life skills. Our dedicated team works collaboratively with families to support each child’s unique growth and ensure they feel valued, safe, and inspired everyday.

Little Scholars Child Development Center, tailored to highlight age-specific learning, developmental goals, and the center’s commitment to quality care:
Infants Classrooms
( Cuddlebugs ) and ( Hug a Bugs ) 6 weeks to 15 months
Is designed to provide a warm, secure space where babies can thrive. Experienced caregivers engage in one-on-one interactions, supporting sensory exploration, tummy time, and early communication through songs, stories, and responsive care routines.
2 Toddlers Classrooms
(LADYBUGS) AND (GRASSHOPPERS) 15 months to 24 months
Toddlers are busy discovering the world around them. Our program encourages movement, self-help skills, and language development through hands-on activities, music, stories, and structured play. Consistent routines and nurturing guidance promote confidence and independence.
2 2YEAR OLD CLASSROOMS
(FIREFLIES) AND (JITTERBUGS)
This program focuses on social-emotional growth, language development, and early problem-solving skills. Children explore themed learning centers, practice sharing and cooperation, and begin simple academic concepts like colors, shapes, and numbers in a playful setting.
3 3 YEAR OLD CLASSROOMS
DRAGONFLIES, CATERPILLARS AND BUTTERFLIES.
Our Preschool curriculum blends play-based learning with school-readiness goals. Children develop literacy and math skills, critical thinking, creativity, and emotional regulation. The classroom environment promotes collaboration, self-expression, and independence.
2 (4 & 5 YEAR OLD CLASSROOMS
THE BUSYBEES AND AWESOME ANTS.
The Pre-K program is designed to ensure children are prepared academically, socially, and emotionally for kindergarten. We use a structured curriculum aligned with state standards, focusing on early reading, math, science, and fine motor skills—all within a fun, supportive environment.
